Everett Wayne Martin (born July 4, 1964 in Tyler, TX), also known as Bigfoot Martin is a former professional boxer. He was a journeyman heavyweight best known for his performances against more notable contenders. ==Pro Boxing Career== Martin was a prospect early in his pro career. He turned pro in 1984 at the age of 20. He started his career at cruiserweight and fought as low as 167 pounds. During the course of his career he boxed 16 heavyweight world champions. In 1988 Martin scored one of the biggest wins of his career with a decision win over rising prospect Bert Cooper. In 1989 he moved up to heavyweight to fight comebacking George Foreman, and lost a decision. Martin then moved on to fight a "Who's Who" dossier of heavyweight prospects and future champions. Rarely winning a bout, Martin was a classic journeyman fighter. Martin lost bouts to Michael Moorer, Riddick Bowe, and James Smith before scoring a shocking decision win over Tim Witherspoon in 1993. The victory was to be one of the last for Martin, although his career spanned for eight more years. Martin went on to lose to Larry Holmes, Tony Tucker, Tony Tubbs, Wladimir Klitschko (twice),〔()〕 Lamon Brewster, Danell Nicholson, Fres Oquendo, Obed Sullivan, David Bostice, and Sergey Lyakhovich. Martin closed out his career with a TKO loss to future champion Ruslan Chagaev.
